Growth partner comparison
Comparing SMB Team with BDI?
Start with the work your firm needs done. Then compare the people, support and total cost behind each proposal. This guide is published by BDI Operations and compares our growth service with SMB Team’s published offer.
What SMB Team offers
SMB Team advertises marketing, sales and intake support, business coaching, operational implementation and financial services for law firms. Its marketing offer covers several channels and can be scoped by service.
Its FreedomOS offer distinguishes coaching from work carried out by a fractional COO. The public page describes tailored plans, group coaching and workshops. Check the proposal for the person assigned to your firm and the support included.
How BDI approaches growth
BDI’s Growth Partner offer connects marketing, sales, team operations and profit reporting in one written plan. The base scope starts with one practice area, one market, one paid channel, one landing page and one main sales process.
Work directly with Daniel and put the support arrangement in your proposal: individual working sessions, written next steps and an agreed response window. The agreement names who performs the work between meetings.
Daniel’s background is in US immigration intake and sales operations. Paid campaigns require specialist delivery; your agreement names the person responsible. The base specialist’s work is included in the service fee. Advertising spend and additional work are separate, listed costs.
Compare the actual scope
Use the same questions for both providers. A service listed on a website may not be included in your quote.
| Decision | What to ask SMB Team | What to ask BDI |
|---|---|---|
| Bringing in clients | Which channels, markets, websites and creative work are included? | Which starting channel and landing page are included, and who runs them? |
| Sales improvement | Which coaching, staffing, software and implementation services are included? | Which call reviews, practice sessions, follow-up changes and staff roles are included? |
| Individual support | Who works directly with the owner, how often, and with what response arrangement? | Confirm Daniel’s individual session, response window and work allowance in the proposal. |
| Team operations | Does the proposal cover advice, coaching or an embedded operational role? | Which process changes and manager routines will be implemented? |
| Financial work | Which bookkeeping, reporting or CFO services are included? | Confirm the reporting scope and your accountant or bookkeeper’s role. |
| Total cost | Request setup, service, media, software, staffing and additional-service costs. | Confirm the base campaign specialist is included. List setup, media, software and additional work separately. |
| Ownership and exit | Who owns the accounts and data, and what happens when the service ends? | Confirm account ownership, export access and the handover included. |
Which approach fits your firm?
SMB Team is worth considering when you want to assess several specialist functions through a broader provider. Verify that the services and people you need are included in the quote.
BDI’s model is for an owner who wants a direct working relationship, a focused implementation scope and clear weekly decisions. Full bookkeeping, fractional CFO work, daily operational management and outsourced phone coverage need separate named delivery. They are not included simply because a plan addresses growth and profit.
Is BDI cheaper?
We have not established a current price comparison for the same work with SMB Team. Public coaching terms and promotional pages do not establish the price of a combined marketing, operations and finance engagement.
BDI Growth Partner is custom quoted after a meeting to understand your firm and agree on the work. There is no fixed price. Advertising spend, software and your staff cost extra. Compare the full written proposals over the same period; this page does not claim a fixed saving.
Get clear answers before you choose
Ask each provider to put the work, people and measures in writing. Use the answers to decide whether the proposal fits your firm.
- Who is responsible for each service, and what do they complete between meetings?
- Which work starts first, and what access, budget or staff time does it need?
- How will we track suitable inquiries, signed clients, payments and costs?
- What happens if the work is delayed, the scope changes or we decide to leave?
